Dr. Johan de Beer

Industrial Psychologist (P S 0020915)

Dr. Johan de Beer is a registered Industrial Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in leadership development, psychometric assessments, organisational development, and HR architecture.

He holds a Doctorate in Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg and a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pretoria. Throughout his career, he has combined academic rigour with practical business insight to help companies align people, culture, and strategy.

Johan has held senior leadership positions, including:

Executive: Human Capital – Imperial Logistics (Africa Division)

Head: Human Resource Development – Imperial Group

His achievements include:

Establishing Imperial Group’s Psychometric Assessment Centre (performing 250+ assessments monthly).

Designing and implementing leadership programmes with GIBS and UCT.

Co-authoring Leaders in Mobility: The Story of Imperial (1946 – 2014) with Leon Kok.

Serving as Team Psychologist for South Africa’s World Skills Team (Leipzig, São Paulo, Abu Dhabi).
